This page will have my first couple of drafts that shows my processes leading up to the final draft of my Life-Choice Memoir assignment, to get a better idea about the assignment review Life-Choice.
The goal is to write a narrative about a high stake decision I made in life, The process had it's good sides and bad sides, the good one is this assignment gave me the chance to reflect on my old self. In order to understand the reason behind my topic choice, you'll need to read Life-Choice: The Powers that be. compare it to my new one and realize how far I've come. The following blog post could really help the reader briefly understanding my personality few years back, and it will help understanding how the conflict in my Life-Choice Memoir led into a positive impact on me. Life Choice: To Tell the Truth? & Life Choice: Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Looking at the final product which I'm still improving, I believe there are two more points I need to clear. It had some good and bad aspects to think about. the bad side is having to relive some of those memories through flashbacks. I named the memoir "Anqa", it's the Arabic word for Phoenix, I chose that name because as a little kid I remember seeing it on TV during a cartoon, and I thought it was real, but as I grew up it meant much more to me, every time life pushed me down I had to teach myself to get up, I got many chances to live again after coming close to death, just like a Phoenix it keeps rising. Another reason I chose to name it that, because "Anqa" was the sport's nickname of someone I admired, his story kept me humble through showing me that others are having a much worse life than I do and they still smile, so instead of complaining I should always be Thankful!
